I am sure we all have had some craze for having cool water bottles during our childhood, didn’t we? If not, many of us might have gained interest I having one when we started travelling to the mountains, beautiful cities and beaches. Just like our backpacks and wallets, it is an important accessory to carry to keep ourselves hydrated all the time. While having a hot day out in the sun and hiking on the steep slopes, all the mouth craves for is some water to end the thirst. Water is something that can cause a lot of diseases if you are travelling in unknown lands and consume something from there that is not reliable and clean. Also, when in the wild, you cannot expect to have purified water. This is where a self-filtered water bottle comes in handy.
Water is something that makes counts to averagely 70% our body weight. So the health of our body is a lot dependant on the intake of clean and purified water. Generally, it is said that we should take 8-10glasses of water per day. This can help us in keeping our body fit and healthy. But it should be pure, clean and free from outside contamination. So we must be aware of the kind of water we take because even a small amount of contaminated water can cause serious ailments to us.
But why do we need a self-filtering water bottle? Like you & me, an average person spends a good amount of money on buying plastic water bottles that become a waste after the water gets finished. Not only we are wasting money but also increasing the plastic consumption which is bad for the natural environment. So as a responsible green traveller and as a human being too, it is our responsibility to lessen the plastic waste around us. Therefore, the water bottles with filters are what we should magnetize more towards. And not to mention that these can help you hundreds of dollars every year on plastic water bottle purchases.
A perfect water bottle is the one that keeps your water cold in the sunshine, hot in the winters, protects germ from entering it, avoids spill, doesn’t leak, looks cool and stylish and much more. Oh see, we are demanding so much from a water bottle. Well, that’s what they are designed for. With so many options it becomes a bit difficult to choose the right one. With a fair bit of research and peersonal usage of water bottles, I have compiled some best ones for you to make your decision a bit easier.

Those are all really great ideas. We have several different water bottle styles for traveling. We never leave home without one full of water, because you never know when you may be thirsty while running errands. And I refuse to pay $1.50 for a bottle of water.
We always bring filter water bottles with us when we travel. It sounds like I am missing out on some good ones, though…I need to look into a few of these.

These all look great! When we travel, I will bring one of these with us.
Great tips! I don’t drink enough water so any water bottle is appealing to me! Love the look of the collapsible one!

I love the Camelbak Groove but I’ll have to try the Nomader… I love anything that collapses for travel! It saves so much packing space!
I’m a Camelback fan and love that water bottle in particular! I’ve not seen some of these other ones and definitely need to check them out!
I love this post! It reminds me that gifting reusable water bottles is a fantastic holiday idea – and these filtered ones are even better. When we go boating, go to Yosemite National Park, and to the gym we take along water bottles. Our family could definitely use a few of these!
I have something very similar to the NOMADER COLLAPSIBLE WATER BOTTLE; it’s in a special plastic and it’s great because it’s so small and easy to take with me in my bag. I’d suggest it to everyone
A good water bottle is always useful. I like the sound of these bottles here.
I am in need of a good water bottle. I really like the Lifestraw Go water filter bottle as it looks durable and suitable for being on the go often.
Your post came at the perfect time! I’ve been looking to purchase a new water bottle, I’m liking the Thermos.
I need a good travel bottle. The one I have now leaks all the time.
This is going to sound sad but I’m terrible when it comes to drinking water. I used to have a drinking app on my phone that would remind me to drink water because I never drank enough. I really need to take my health more seriously and get a cute bottle as motivation!
Drinking water is such an integral part of everyone’s life. It’s equally important to choose a right water bottle. Interesting post.
These are such a great idea for any camping trip! We normally pack pre-filled water bottles in the cooler but they can be such a pain to haul around!
I have heard about the Life Straw but not the LifeStraw Go Filter Water Bottle. I’ll have to check it out since we like to go hiking and sometimes the water isn’t always as clean as you would like it to be!
I’ve been thinking of a present for my siblings. This water bottles are just perfect for them. I’d buy one for my son too.
The ‘LIFESTRAW GO’ WATER FILTER BOTTLE looks so good. Perfect for Christmas as gift.
There are a lot of interesting water bottles here. I will have to check them out. I never knew that Brita made these kinds of bottles. Although it seems like the filter doesn’t have as long of a shelf life as I would like.
I don’t have a travel bottle, but now that you mentioned it, it’s a great idea. I often get dehydrated when I travel. I think that the camel back bottle looks great and fits what I need .
I’ve always loved my Camelbak. They’re easy to carry and hold a lot of water and are super durable!
Those bottles looks cool. But I always prefer plain but should be customisable. Don’t you think? I really haven’t heard any of them until now, but if they come to India, I will think about buying it.
These bottles are very useful if you are travelling in wild when you don’t have any option of buying a packaged water bottle. Also, you cannot carry lots of water bottles and dump in the mountains or elsewhere. These bottles will always be with you and prevent garbage waste as well. You can purchase it online as well.
Those are all really great ideas. We have several different water bottle styles for traveling. you have expressed everything in a great manner. Thanks for highlighting the importance of water bottles.
You’re welcome Kavita and thanks for reading the post. These filter bottles are very useful indeed.
I am actually super happy to find this page. I have been researching these bottles. Have you tried them? I actually really want to know which one will be best. I was looking at lifestraw which you mentioned first… I want to know if I can put muddy river water from the Amazon in this bottle and drink it. I go camping in the jungle about once a year and hate carrying chlorine tabs to purify the water…
Hi Rach. I have the ‘Lifestraw Bottle’ with me and it is indeed very good to clear and filter out the polluted water to a great extent. If you go on hikes and wild camping, then this is a nice choice. River water can be purified with the filter in it. Or simply you can buy a filter that comes separately if you have some other water bottle that you want to carry. You can also watch reviews of this bottle on youtube to be double sure. 🙂
Oh I really want a filter water bottle, I don’t drink anywhere near enough water and I really should!
This is the third year I’m using the Lifestraw Go water bottle and for sure, I love how it filters water. Apart from that, Lifestraw had a project in Kenyan countrysides to donate them and people shared good reviews of it. Thanks!
I haven’t purchased a filtered water bottle as yet but am about to do so as I too am guilty of buying too many plastic bottles of water. My favourite from the list is the Hydro Flask as it has great insulation properties and the Brita bottle as it would be a great starter filter bottle for school etc as its a great price.
You listed some great info on the bottles. I like the thermos bottle and the price is great, too.
i am a sucker for a good water bottle and currently on the hunt for one for the ny.
